Awantipora 17 February 2021: Continuing its drive against the Drug peddlers and its propagators, Awantipora Police arrested two drug peddler from Pampore area.
Acting on information Awantipora Police placed a special Naka at Gallander Crossing Pampore and arrested three drug peddler identified as:
1) Ishfaq Ahmad Masoodi S/o Nizam-ud-Din Masoodi R/o Bagandar Pampore
2) Amir Hamid Lone S/O Abdul Hamid Lone R/O Drangbal Pampore .
3) Owaise Gul S/o Ghulam Mohammad Bhat R/O Drangbal Pampore.
10 Kgs of contraband substance Poppy Straw and Cash amount of Rs 22,000(Twenty Two Thousand only) was recovered from the possession of arrested persons boarding in the vehicle.
Vehicle SX4 bearing registration number JK01L-2960 used in the commission of the said crime has also been seized.
During on spot questioning of the arrested duo admitted that the seized money pertains to the proceeds of the narcotic substances
Case FIR Number 18/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS law stands registered at Police Station Pampore.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly under law.
