9 states, UTs free from dreaded coronavirus
New Delhi: There are at least nine states and Union Territories (UTs) that have successfully fought off the deadly coronavirus and are now free from it.
Reports said over half of these coronavirus-free states are in the North East region of the country.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said Daman and Diu, Lakshadweep, Nagaland and Sikkim are yet to report a single case of coronavirus.
Latest reports said Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Manipur and Mizoram have successfully treated all of their respective COVID-19 patients without registering any fatalities.
The COVID-19-free states and Union Territories are Arunachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Daman and Diu, Goa, Lakshadweep, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim.
