2 SPOs Held With Contraband in Kupwara’s Drugmulla; Accused Duo Disengaged

Kupwara, May 22: Police on Saturday held two Special Police Officers (SPOs) with contraband in Drugmulla locality of this north-Kashmir district, official sources said.

They said that the two accused identified as; Shakoor Ahmad Bhatti, a resident of Chamkoot Karnah – at present residing at Waterkhani Drugmulla – deputed as SPO Number 143 posted at SDH Kupwara and Shabir Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Bumhama Kupwara, SPO No. 35 at DPL Kupwara were apprehended by a team led by SHO Drugmulla Mushtaq Ahmad.

The duo on board an Alto car bearing Registration Number JK-09B 6215 was intercepted and during the questioning divulged having in their possession fourteen grams of brown sugar. Both the accused were subsequently put under custody at Police Post Drugmulla.

Meanwhile it has been lately learnt that both the accused have been disengaged from their services. (GNS)
