Kulgam June 17: A thief was caught red handed by the brave woman in Hanid Chawalgam area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam on Thursday afternoon.
According to the locals, thief was caught while stealing jewellery, mixers and some other items from the house of Farooq Ahmad Itoo Family, resident of Hanid Chawalgam, Kulgam.
The thief was identified as Suhail Ahmad Ganai, son of Ghulam Nabi Ganai, resident of Devsar, Kulgam
Sources told CNS that the thief was arrested by brave woman namely Gulshan Akhter accompanied by locals and later handed over to Kulgam.
Meanwhile police has registered a case under FIR number 142/2021 U/S 454,380, 17/06/2021 at village Hanid Chawalgam, Kulgam in this regard.
It is pertinent to mention that theft of livestock has also taken place during last couple of weeks in the area.
When CNS contacted DSP GM Bhat he said, “strict against will be taken against the thieves and drug peddlers”. (CNS)
