Elderly Cancer Patient Dies, 2 Persons Injured As Ambulance Meets Accident In Ramban
Jammu, Jul 24: An elderly woman was killed and two other persons accompanying her were injured after an ambulance they were on board met with an accident in Batote in Ramban district on Saturday afternoon.
They said that an ambulance (JK-06 8241) was on way from GMC Doda to SKIMS Soura carrying the cancer patient Hasina Begum wife of Lt Bhadar Malik and two her attendants namely Mohammad Ameen Malik (35) and his wife Fareeda Begum (35) – all residents of Tantna, tehsil Gondan, district Doda.
On reaching Batote, the driver lost control over the vehicle, resulting in on spot death of the elderly woman and injuries to the two attendants, they told GNS.
Confirming the incident, SHO Batote Ranjeet Singh told GNS that both the injured were shifted to CHC Batote for treatment, where they are said to be in a stable condition.
A case has been registered in this regard for further proceedings, he further said. (GNS)
