MHA withdraws order directing companies to pay full wages during lockdown

New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA) has withdrawn its earlier order directing companies to pay full wages during COVID-19 lockdown.

This will cause a great deal of difficulty for the employees of the company. This, will however, bring relief to industrial concerns which were unable to pay full wages to their employees.

The new set of guidelines issued by the Home Ministry on Sunday included several relaxations regarding the curbs in the initial phases of the lockdown.

It said nothing about the March 29 order issued by the Union home secretary that directed all employers to pay wages to workers on due date without any deduction even if the commercial unit was closed during the lockdown period.
