Suspected militants reportedly abducted a policeman from a Shopian village yestereday and was later released by militants.
Police sources told News Agency KNT that suspected militants appeared in Thairan village of Shopian district and abducted a policeman.
The cop has been identified as Shakeel Ahmed. An official said that cop is safe and sound at a police station.
Pertinently, after the incident Government Forces had cordoned off the adjacent villages and a search operation was launched, however, militants released him and allowed to go.
Earlier also an abducted cop was released after his abduction from South Kashmir.
