Srinagar, Nov 25: Srinagar Municipality squad sealed several structures in Nursingh Garh,Balgarden Srinagar, where illegal commercial activities had become a headache and dangerous for locals.“These structures were used for commercial purposes in the said residential colony, in contravention of the building permissions.
Muncipal authorities have decided that they will not stop here, but will continue our drive against illegal commercial use of residential colonies in Srinagar and against the illegal constructions.
In these residential buildings which have been converted into illegal commercial buildings from last few years. The owners have dumped rubber, Chemical and other hazardous things in these buildings which are very dangerous for local and can be devastating for the residential colony. Besides this there is lot of truck and load carrier movement which is disturbing the privacy to locals.
While hailing the action of the corporation, the local residents said that these buildings were illegally used as warehouses and the trucks unloading goods here were also a matter of nuisance, as these were parked in the residential colony creating great inconvenience for the locals.The sealing of structures has restored the sanctity and security of the housing colony and all the residents have heaved a sigh of relief.
While thanking the SMC authorities and hope that the drive will continue in future, without a let up unlike in past.
