Kashmir’s leading news service receives notice from Counter Intelligence Kashmir
Asked to Clarify Original Source of News Published on 23-2-2016
Srinagar CNS, Dec 16: DSP, CID &CIK Srinagar has sent a notice to Current News Service (CNS) in order to clarify the source of the news published by various newspapers like Greater Kashmir, Kashmir Thunder, Asia Mail & Iqbal-e-Kashmir on 23-2-2016 with reference of CNS news agency.
The notice mentions that the news was titled as “UJC Announces Bravery Award for Slain Gunmen”. The letter further reads that as intimated by above mentioned newspapers that they received the news item from CNS and was published as such in their newspapers.
The news item is about the EDI attack by the LeT gunmen in which few security personnel lost their life and the gunmen were killed after 48 hour long gunfight. Later the spokesperson of UJC Syed Sadaqat Hussain had told CNS over phone from Muzafarabad that the organization’s Chief Syed Salahuddin convened a special meeting to offer glorious tribute to the three slain militants and bravery award titled ‘Hilal-e-Shujhat’ was conferred to three slain militants.
The letter also mentions that a case is registered at Police Station CIK baering FIR No 01/2016 U/s 13,18,20 ULA (P) Act against the Chairman UJC regarding the statement.
At last it is demanded in the letter to authenticate the news item and to clarify it with the source of information that whether the statement was through the official spokesperson of UJC or otherwise. The clarification of the news item is said to be for the completion of investigation on merit.
