Kulgam, Jan, 22 ÷ Continuing its war against drug menace, Police party headed by I/C PP Mirbazar SI Imtiyaz Ahmad laid a surprise Naka at Mirbazar Chowk during intervening night of 21/22 Jan, 2021. While checking signalled a vehicle (Swift Dzire) bearing registration No. PB10FS-6402 to stop, instead of stopping the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to flee away from the spot. The vehicle was chased on tip off and with strenuous efforts was intercepted at Nepora Crossing. Going through checking, officers present were able to recover 10 Kg of Poppy Straw(Fukki) like substance from the possession of two persons whose identity has been ascertained as:-
- Janbaz Ahmed Dass S/o Mohd Sabir Dass.
- Umar Amin Thoker S/o Mohd Amin Thoker both the residents ofWaghama Bijbehara who were arrested on spot and vehicle used in commission of crime was seized.
In this connection case FIR No. 12/2021 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Qazigund and further investigation has been initiated.
