Amit Shah will fulfill his commitment, restore statehood to J&K: Shaheen
Srinagar, June 16: Expressing anguish over the widen gap between people and the government, Janata Dal United President GM Shaheen Thursday said there is a dire need to address the grievances of common people without tangling them in red tapism.
He said people have no access to power corridors and they feel helpless. “There is no mechanism to deal with the problems of people. The Bureaucratic Rule is not an alternative,” he said.
Shaheen said Central Government has no intention to conduct elections in Jammu and Kashmir. “It seems there is no light at the end of the tunnel and people have to suffer continuously,” he said.
Shaheen said he is hopeful that Home Minister Amit Shah will live up his commitment and restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Shaheen said JDU has elected two General Secretaries for the party. Those include Vivek Bali from Jammy and Haji Ali Muhammad Sofi from Srinagar. Rahul Dogra has been appointed as In Charge Jammu. (KNT)
