ATS, BDS, Police sanitize Srinagar gunfight spot
Conduct searches under debris’
Two weeks after the encounter at Kanimazar Nawakadal area of Srinagar city, police along with special teams conducted searches near the gunfight site and adjacent areas on Monday.
Police sources told KNT that Anti-Sabotage Team, Bomb Disposal Squad along with police arrived at encounter spot and searched debris thoroughly.
Pertinently, last month on 19 May over a dozen residential houses were damaged in a gunfight in the area that culminated with the killing of top Hizb Commander Junaid Sehraie. Associate of Juanid was also killed in the gun fight.
Three civilians were killed after the encounter when they came under a concrete dilapidated wall.
Sources said that Anti-Sabotage Team and Bomb Disposal Squad looked for explosive substances under the debris but didn’t find anything.
An official said that searches were conducted to ensure the area is clear of explosive substances so that no human life is lost in the area. (KNT)
