Non-local family accuses traffic cop of thrashing and injuring their Minor
Srinagar,02-Nov;: In a blatant abuse of power, a traffic policeman hit the mirror of vehicle causing injuries to 4 year old boy.
The incident happened allegedly after the traffic police was clearing traffic congestion at the busy Sonawar area near Honorable Chief Justice’s house in opposite Ram Munshi Bagh Police station in Srinagar.
Narrating the incident Ajay kumar(38) from Bihar, working as permanent carpenter in Presentation Convent School said that yesterday at around 6.28 pm, they were on way to Jammu from Srinagar. On reaching Sonwar, without asking them to stop, the traffic cops deployed there, hit the mirror causing severe injuries to their son Alok kumar(4). Alok sustained eye injuries and had to be treated at a local hospital. However, terrified family preferred to get their son treated at Jammu.
“We were on our way to celebrate Diwali with our family .As we left during late hours from TRC Srinagar, there was darkness and we failed to comprehend what was happening. We felt so scared that we travelled to Jammu in injured condition of my son”, Kumar added
The officer smashed the glasses of vehicle and thrashed commuters. Kumar said adding that vehicle (JK14A-9578) was damaged by the traffic cops.
Meanwhile, DSP traffic Srinagar, said that strict action will be taken against the cop.
