KILLINGS CAN’T MAKE BASES FOR ANY RIGHTEOUS SITUATION

The recent killing of 3 BJP activists has sent shock waves through the active political elements across the Kashmir valley and the act has contributed to squeezing the space for the peaceful means in the resolution of impending smaller or bigger issues. Although, the situation on ground zero doesn’t allow a liberal comment on the issue, but the perpetrators of such acts must understand that no religion especially Islam doesn’t allow this kind of act on unarmed people, even if the person is a worst enemy. For some people it could be logical that being in conflict/war with a rival or enemy one can avenge his losses, but either of the warring factions/groups cannot resort to the killing of unarmed opponents, not even in guerilla type warfare.

Kashmir has been a conflict zone between Indian security forces and armed separatist groups for the last 30 years now and so for about a lac of mostly young people have died which includes a considerable number of innocent Kashmiries too, besides the militants and security personnel. But almost 95% victims have been innocent Kashmiries, who fell to the bullets of security personnel or militants in the shape of targeted killings or in the crossfire. But, in either case, a child is snatched from the lap of a Kashmiri mother. This is not the first time when a political activist having allegiance with any of the mainstream or the separatist political parties by the unknown militants or by the security agencies a Kashmiri soul is lost.

This kind of killings in any part of Kashmir has created chaos, as people no more want the lives of their kin to cut short, no matter with which school of political thought he is associated with. The presence of huge crowds of local population in the shape of funeral processions, should serve as an eye opener for one and all. The general perception among the people around these activists or outfits is that the youth join the mainstream political parties only to get engaged to kill the frustration of un-employment, to serve their respective areas/villages as their representatives for any-kind of civic/developmental works and most importantly to earn their livelihood.

Killing these unarmed political activists brazenly in the name of any National, religious or noble cause can not absolve the perpetrators of the responsibility from the natural system of justice. Killing an un-aware activist, individual or a group of people in the name of nationalism or Jihad doesn’t stand in the natural justice system and will always be held responsible for the heinous crime/sin.

Violence has never been responsible for any kind of resolution, but the resolution of any kind of impending disputes or issues, in any situation can be addressed through peaceful means, though it seems tough, but chances of meeting point are always available, though are distant enough to catch the eye, however, if followed rigorously a hope of meeting point can’t be ruled out. In past world has seen several huge wars failed to resolve any issues but the final solution came out through peaceful means.

So, the killing of activists or any other innocent people can’t be the bases of any virtuous causes, but spreads hate and animosity which is certain to aggravate the issues more painfully than to make the foundations for a justified and righteous resolution.
