KU admission scam: Clerk swindles admission fee, students in distress
Srinagar, 10 Nov: A major admission scam has unearthed in Gandhi College, Srinagar after an employee of the College has swindled admission fee of more than 80 students.
The said employee has collected fee from over 80 students with the promise to enroll them in different courses offered by Kashmir University.
However, he has not submitted the fee to the college or university, but has used it for personal purpose.
“When college was recently opened after Covid 19 lockdown, we went to college, but we were shocked to learn that we were not registered in admission records,” said a distressed group of students.
Nobody listened to their genuine issues.
After that a delegation of these students approached BJP senior leader, Hilal Jan who took the matter with senior staff of Gandhi College. “College authority admitted that admission fee of some 80 students has been swindled and these students were not enrolled for different courses,” Hilal Jan said, adding, college authority has written to the University and he was hopefully these students would be enrolled in the college.
