Kulgam, February 20, 2021 : District Police Kulgam continuing its efforts to eradicate the Drug Menace from the District.
Specific Naka was established at Vessu Chowk by kulgam police led by I/C PP Mirbazar Sub Inspector Imtiyaz Ahmad under the supervision of SHO Qazigund Insp. Irshad Reshi and SDPO Qazigund Shri. Mohd Shafiq-JKPS, intercepted a vehicle bearing Chassis No. MA1ZP2TLKL6K29287 (Bolero). Going through checking officers present were able to recover 09 Gunny Bags filled with Poppy Straw like substance weighing 225 Kg from the possession of one person namely; Subhash Chander S/O Manga Ram R/O Karyal Khurad Colony Vishna Jammu who was arrested on spot and vehicle used in commission of crime was seized; In this regard Case FIR No. 31/2021 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Qazigund and further investigation is in progress.
It is pertinent to mention that Kulgam police has launched a full fledged war against anti social elements and will continue its unwavering efforts to eradicate all forms of anti social evils within the District. Public is requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling or any other anti social activity in their vicinity.
