Pulwama, Oct 4: Inhabitants of Merzapora in Awantipora are up in arms against authorities over persisting dilapidated condition of the road stretch connecting the area with highway.
A local delegation told GNS that the road continues to remain in shambles for nearly a decade now and the patients, school-going children and employees have to endure difficulties due to the shabby road conditions.
The road stretch dotted with deep potholes gets waterlogged even at a slight downpour and with winter round the corner we fear of more trouble, they said.
Despite time to time representations, the authorities have however shown no response vis-à-vis the matter, they alleged.
Urging the authorities to repair the road stretch, the delegation member said that they hope that the matter will be considered and measures taken to alleviate the sufferings of public. (GNS)
