Temperature Recorded Above Freezing Point Across Kashmir

Srinagar, February, 20 : After several days of continuous pleasant weather in Kashmir Valley, cloudy weather prevailed on Saturday which made people feel a bit cold and had to use heating devices for warmth.

Meanwhile, according to the Meteorological Department, the weather in the valley may be wet again from next week.
A spokesman for the department said the weather in the valley could change again from February 22, with snow and rain expected by February 27 as an impact of the Western Disturbances.
A meteorological department official told that Srinagar recorded a low of 3.6°C against minus 0.2°C on the previous night. It was 2.7°C above the normal for this time of the year, the official said.

Qazigund, the gateway town of J&K, recorded a low of 1.0°C against minus 1.5°C on the previous night. The mercury settled at 1.2°C at Pahalgam against minus 4.5°C on the earlier night in the world-famous tourist resort in south Kashmir. Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a low of 1.8°C against minus 0.9°C on the previous night, he said.

The minimum temperature settled at 1.2°C in Kupwara against minus 2.3°C on the previous night while Gulmarg, the world-famous skiing resort, recorded a low of 0.0°C against minus 3.0°C……
