Jammu & Kashmir National Conference on Thursday said it has “no understanding or inclination to have understanding with Bharatiya Janta Party in Srinagar Municipal Corporation or elsewhere.
“JKNC has no understanding, or inclination to have an understanding with BJP. Neither in SMC Srinagar nor elsewhere,” the party tweeted as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)
The party came up with clarification amid reports that corporators who had joined National Conference after municipal polls are likely to back BJP and Congress Corporators move to unseat Peoples Conference mayor Junaid Azam Mattu
While National Conference did not participate in the municipal polls held in 2018, 11 corporators of SMC had joined the party in May 2019 in presence of its leadership.
Post August 5, 2019, the BJP is trying to dislodge Mattu and he had survived the no- confidence motion sponsored by the party in December last year—
