Warns Stringent action against Spreading Naseless Rumours

Kulgam CNS, July 02: Kulgam police on Friday warned that anyone who attempts to dissemination and endorsement of baseless rumours to disrupt peace will be dealt with strictly.

In a statement issued to CNS Kulgam Police said that they have taken a strong note of mischievous activity of some persons on social media sites who are making false claims that Zakir Bashir Naik, son of Bashir Ahmad Naik, resident of Chimmer DH Pora, the militant who was eliminated on 30 June 2021 in an encounter at Chimmer DH Pora) was not a militant .

“The claim is totally baseless. The fact is that he had joined militant ranks in June 2021 as confirmed from various field and intelligence agencies.Also, he was the first person who used deadly force against security forces cordoning the area. In self defence, retaliatory action was undertaken in which he was neutralised” Kulgam police claimed.

According to the statement on social media platforms, some miscreants are spreading false but sensitive updates regarding the matter that could emerge as threat to peace and order.

SP Kulgam in a statement issued to CNS appealed to everyone to make use of social media platforms in a careful, positive and responsible manner and warns all the mischievous elements that whosoever attempts to instigate the public by spreading baseless rumours will be dealt with sternly. (CNS)
