Two drug peddlers arrested in Baramulla, Narcotic substance recovered

Srinagar, July 09: Continuing its pledge to eradicate drug menace, police arrested two drug peddlers in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday, police said in a statement.

In a statement to GNS, the police said that under the supervision of Syed Sajad Hussain-JKPS, DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by Inspr. Syed Showkat Ahmad, SHO PS Baramulla arrested 01 drug peddler namely Mehrajuddin Dar son of Gh Ahmad Dar resident of Jalsheeri, District Baramulla at Azadgunj Chowk and recovered 85 gms of charas like substance from his vehicle Tipper bearing registration No JK05C-1097. In this regard, case under sections of NDPS has been registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation taken up.

The statement further stated that similarly, under the supervision of Junaid Wali-JKPS, SDPO Uri assisted by Inspr. Mohd Ashraf, SHO Police station Uri arrested 01 drug peddler namely Noor Din Gojri son of Sonaullah Gojri resident of Banglowbagh Baramulla at NS Bridge Uri and recovered 60 grams Charas like substance from his vehicle Bus bearing registration No JK03-2513. In this regard, case under sections of NDPS has been registered in Police Station Uri and investigation taken up.

General People of District Baramulla are requested to come forward with the information of drug peddlers in their areas so that the drug menace will be eradicated from the society, concludes the statement.(GNS)
