Unity Mutton Traders Association cleans Eid-Gah ground
Srinagar,19 JUL,2022: Historians say around six centuries ago, 400 Kanal of land at Eidgah were donated to Kashmiris by Mir Muhammad Hamdani (RA), son of Sufi saint Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA)—who brought art and crafts into Kashmir from Central Asia.
A portion of Eidgah meant for the playground is inundated due to the choked drainage system. The flock of sheep can be seen grazing in the park meant for recreational purposes, thus devouring it of its vegetation.
Eid prayers were not allowed at Eidgah Srinagar because it was not possible to make necessary arrangements for the Eid prayer.
Today unity mutton traders association helped to clean the Eid gah ground because during Eid all the sacrificial animals were bought here for sale. There was a huge market for shepherds but due to their negligence, the ground was still in bad condition.
President Mohammad Saleem Mir vice president Gulam Nabi mir Khursheed Ahmad Tolla, Treasure mehfooz ah hakroo, Tariq ah mala, Amir ah, Adil wadoo , and Shahnawaz were also in this initial step to clean the ground for the locals and the sports persons.
