“Victimization of women continues unabated”

Victimisation of women is witnessed through ages. Every era of civilised nations & tribes possess the narratives of women harassed and assaulted. Human history is full with oppression on women folk.
At every step and at every age the girl child is harassed be it at family level or at social level. The rights which are guaranteed to her are never exercised. If by chance she revolts against the norms set by men folk, then she is crushed & her right to live is stomped by naming her a weak submissive character.
Primarily The oppression of women begins at home. If father has a son and daughter. More focus is given to boy, be it love, schooling, career development etc. Then in society she has to face multiple insults, inferiority, harassment. Every year so many cases of harassment are registered by women from different stratas of society. If a woman is employed in government or private sector she has to bear grudge & harassment from male oriented world in way or the other. It is ironic that woman is harassed by woman herself. Thousands of cases are the there. When a mother in law has killed, assaulted or the victim has committed suicide due to the non payment or small amount in the name of dowry. Thus it seems obvious that there is misunderstanding among women folk in their origin of thought. In patriarchal family woman has no role in the domestic arena but to be in the dark cave(kitchen) engulfed with smoke to feed the men folk. Here we should not think about the rural patriarchal families who are uneducated or less educated. Even urban joint families have witnessed gruesome oppression against women folk in their household. The rights which have been given to the women by constitution or which are written in the different scriptures are not followed by the men. There is no doubt that men & women have different fields but the the rights which are guaranteed to her should be considered & they should have their part of opinions & values to be executed in the family domain as the are the core members of the house.
It’s said woman can’t take places of men but we forget that how men can replace them where there is the need of women. They are the harbingers of the society but the men exploit them for their own interests in way or the other. When a man is born from the womb of the mother, till childhood he remains obedient. But as he progress & steps in the world of adulthood. The greed of materialism turns him into devil against her own progenitor.
Men folk is keen to suppress the freedom, education rights, job of women. Because it’s not their cup of tea. They should take care of household and Bury themselves in the daily chores. But recently due to the covid19 pandemic. Our own state is feeling the dearth of female staff – nurses, doctors, gynaecologists. Even at some hospitals females refused to do ECGS by male technicians. They demanded for female technicians. This gives us clue that women are entirely equal in some domains where they can handle the awkward situations smoothly. But the man’s nature will still weigh it in the measure of ignorance.
The main grunt of tyranny oppression & harassment the woman had encountered & witnessed in this state is during the turmoil which erupted in 1989. Whenever discourses are raised on this subjects, militancy, pandit exodus & military occupation comes to the fore. But we forget to mention the psychological & physical oppression & harassment of the woman who are the part of the same soil. But don’t know why their plight is marginalised. It’s really sad state of affairs. The state has witnessed thousands of killings. But if we will equate them then they are fathers, brothers or husbands of the same women folk. During this turmoil the women became the most terrible victims. Either they were psychologically harrased or physically exploited by the counter parts. There are thousands of examples visible in the society. Where a mother lost her son and there is no assurance of his return. But the wailing mother is sti waiting for her son. The APDP association narrates the same stories. On the other hand kunan poshpora had a gripping tale. Where women from small to elderly became the victims of the beasts in the dark hours of night. The same memories are haunting them every time. It’s always with them like a devils shadow. The woman of the state are the mostly suppressed victims whose voices where choked by their own conscience of self respect or by the ill system of society. They are not in a position to vent out their anger and frustration. Nor the scars & wounds will heal which have been inflicted on them. But still with courage and bravery they are shoulder to shoulder to their men to meet out their business of life affairs. She acts like a candle to sacrifice herself on the hersey of oppression to keep alive her progeny. But sadly the man never understood it until now.
In the last sermon our beloved prophet advised people to be kind and affectionate towards women. To guard their prestige and dignity. But in our society we have witnessed gruesome crime against in the form of acid attacks. It is demonic act which only a beast can do in the hide of human being. There are many acid attack survivors in the community who live the life with pain and that attack is like blister which is always oozing out pain anguish & agony. Here again it’s only the women who are the victims of this dastard act. They became victims because they have rejected the proposal of any vagabond or the lustful pleas of trivial love.
Half widows are also the worst hit among the women folk. Who have to face oppression and harassment at multiple junctures of their life.
Body shaming is one more aspect where the women are psychologically depressed and oppressed. It becomes difficult for them to survive in the male world.while western world has always dominated the women. They use them as toys who have no feelings & emotions. But the world is changing now. The woman has revolted against the injustices done to her through centuries with the support of some men who really respect love and care about them.
But still at many places, regions the woman is victim of different types of atrocities done to her. All can change if men will think about their relationship with her. The male has to change his outlook attitude and mindset towards the woman.
